    Default Unexpected Fireworks

It is 10 pm amd I am sitting inside and I hear large "Booms" - HUH?. I go outside and to the north of me (about 8 miles) is a very nice firework display going on. Cool! I run and grab the camera with my 24-120 attached. Not ideal, but use what you got (a longer lens would be better). I start taking pics and yuck no tripod. Wife runs and gets my tripod. 2 minutes have passed now. How long will this show last???? Frantic, I get the camera mounted and set up with some reasonable camera settings and fire away. 7 minutes later it is over (10:10 pm). I guess Cinco De Mayo or something? I live in a very rural place and only 1 town north of me. In 10 years of living here I have never seen fireworks to the north of my location or any other direction for that matter. Whatever, we got to see a nice firework show and a I was able to rattle off a few decent pics. Here are the highlights.

I love the pictures! Just out of curiosity, what type of camera are you using?

LOL - Yes. Hobogato is corret! So Chris I am using a D70s and related Nikon Stuff. You can take good firework pics with just about and decent P&S or DSLR though. I used to use (and still do) my 2mp Olympus 2100UZ too!

Thx for the comments and glad you liked them. It was a nice little show.

looks like the firworks from the Round Rock Express game, they fire them off at the end of every home game that's on Friday nights
