Thread: Garlic Myth

    Default Garlic Myth

Okay not going to start an argument whether it cures Ick or not but I am going to tell you that all fish are different. Over a year ago I purchased a Regal Tang from a MAAST member and he showed signs of a little ICK so I tried to feed him foods laced with Garlic. He would not eat it no matter if it was flake or frozen so I added it to the water and he was fine. The other day I purchased another container of Ocean Nutrition from Texas Tropical and the Tang eats it but not very well. Looking on the container label I see they have now added 2% Garlic. I guess fish are just like people not everybody likes McDonalds French fries and not all fish think having Garlic added to there food is a stimulator?

I use Kent Garlic extreme and all my fish love it.

    I have:

    Desjardini Sailfin Tang
    Palani Tang
    Vlamingi Tang
    Purple Tang
    Scopas Tang
    Imperator Angel
    Mated pair of Maroon Clowns

Wether it helps or not, that is a diferent question.

Garlic stimulates an appetite for most fish. A fish eats thus reduces stress. LOL
