Default Diamond Goby ? is this normal

I acquired a diamond goby that is at least four years old. It has been in a sixty gallon cube with the same fish for all these years. I got put a few of the original fish into my large tank and only kept three of the fish in there, a pajama, a chromis and the goby. I have had my little false percula's in quarantine for the past few weeks and decided that it would be ok to go ahead and put them in the cube tonight. Well, everything went well. I put them in with their anemone and they were staying close. The anemone wasn't moving so I decided i would 'help' it over to a rock. When I lifted it up, the clowns were low on the ground and the goby came up and engulfed!!!! the little clown. Totally swallowed, in its mouth. It acted stunned and I immediatly went to grab it and it spit it out and ran (ok swam off). My poor little clown is nearly dead. Is this normal? When I went to add snails, hermits, crabs, shrimp, he does the same thing and tries to eat them. I feed them two to three times a day and he always comes out to get food. :( I don't want to put him in my big tank as I now have a little baby gsm clown in there. Is this because its new? I have done searches and cant find anything about this type of behavior. I have been up now for hours watching the little guy. Poor little clown. I think he is going to make it as he is at least back to swimming and not curled up in a half cirlce.

All this for a fish I think I am officially addicted!

Default RE: Diamond Goby ? is this normal

I have seen the bigger spotted and diamond gobies eat all sorts of stuff. I always saw mine carrying shells around and my crab population went down. I saw a friend's pink spotted eat a smaller firefish and a dottyback. They are notorious for eating shrimp and stuff.

I sent mine to live in someone else's tank and my friend hated his so we did the humane thing and fed it to my carpet anemone.
