ViaAqua water pump

I just purchased a ViaAqua 1300. When I plugged it in it sounded like an alarm clock going off in my tank. The impeller looks okay. Any similar experiences? Don't know whether this is typical of this pump or whether it is defective. The advertisement read "quiet running". Trying to decide whether to return it for another one or to replace it with a different brand.

I have the big ViaAqua 4100 on my 75 and I love it. It sounds like you have a bad pump to me. Talk to whoever you bought it from.

Sounds like a bad pump. They are pretty quiet.
