Can I keep together

I am wanting to get me 2 4wd gobies and a yellow headded jawfish my tank is 55 gal with a 10 gal fuge and a 20 gal sump I have close to 80lbs of LR and my sand bed is only 1.5-2" which I am going to add more sand for the Jaw head in one section of the tank. I am just wondering If I can keep them together. Also are there any starfish or shrimp I can keep with them?

josh, I am guessing people may be wondering what 4WD goby is since no one is answering... might be a local name for a fish up there?

Typicly, fish of similar appearence will tend to have the disposition of not wanting to get along. Some gobies are known to steal Jawfish burrows and out compete them for food. Unless your tank is very large and the fish can separate themselvs from each other, id probably recommend not mixing them. Jaws are very timid creatures and dont tolerate agressive fish at all. Ive always kept them in a species tank by themselvs. My opinion.

They are also a twin spot goby I believe (Signigobius biocellatus)

Twin Spot gobies are like mandarins...very hard to get to eat anything other than pods. They do best in an older tank and are very shy at first. They are spectacular looking in person..no pic Ive ever seen does them justice...just not the hardiest fish. They do much better in pairs, and will send sand flying. They are also known as signal gobys. They should be fine with your jawfish.

Star fish: Avoid brittle stars (they can be good little predators) and Im not sure but I think a sandsifting might actually be competition for the twin spots regarding food. Id get a 6 armed maroon star. They look like linkias (except the obvious 6th arm) but from out experience much hardier. I think Drs Foster has em in right now.

Id put some sort of algae (chyto) or something for you to help your pod population grow in the sump...a sort of makeshift refugium.

Basically, treat the twin spots like you would a mandarin.

Your basic reef shrimp should be fine with them (cleaner, fire, coral banded)
