One time my son was told to eat his salad. "Stupid lettuce!" he said. My husband quipped, "Actually, lettuce is the smartest of the vegetables." My son looked at him oddly. "It comes in a head" was my husband's response.
Have any of you been to the O'Henry pun off here in Austin? One of our best friends won it 2 years in a row. He and my husband always put on a skit "Pirates of Punzance"... They wrote it themselves and it is actually very funny! (Not as much of a groaner as the lettuce bit.)
