Preferably, someplace wet.Really, theyre pretty adaptable corals and once acclimated will do just fine almost anywhere theres decent lighting and gentle flow.
They are the more aggressive of the LPS corals. They will over power even Xenia. If you have brain coral keep them far enough away so they don't get stung. Now on the other side my mother colony in my 75 is best buds with two hairy mushrooms, go figure? Mine also tripled in size in a year so I fragged it and now have three.
Well

I got mine from Alamo and its about an inch in size. It opens up for about 10mins and then goes back in. Ive looked at it at night to see if there is a change but nothing. I have never seen it open all the way since ive had it. I got it on Saturday and the rest of my corals are doing fine. Whats going on with the Frogspawn? Could it be stressed out? Any help would be great. Ive always wanted one and now I do and its acting funny. :cry

I have mine about 10" from the top of the aquarium. I have had them under CF and now they are under MH. I never had a problem with them. I thought it was one of the easier corals to grow? I wish I had an answer to your problem, maybe someone else will chime in. When you bought it was it open and looking good (3 inches across) or an inch in size and closed up?
It was about an inch across and about a 1/2" front to back. He's a little guy. When I got him he was open about a 1/2" high, now it just sits there and open to about 1/4" and sucks back in. It does this back and forth. Im running a MH, but it's at the bottom. I have a powerhead hitting it really softy. On one side I can see where it died, but the rest looks fine sometimes. My tank is running good. All the others are doing just fine. I dont want to lose him and I check on it everyday.
