I agree I had 2 full blooded dobermans. I got one from the Pound is Abilene when I was in College, and the other I got from the Rottweiler rescue in Houston. I HIGHLY encourge you to check out the Rottie rescues. They have FULL blooded animials looking for homes. You can get a puppy if you'd like as well. I had 2 dobermans who had no problem with my cat. They were the best dogs ever! No problems, saying that show dogs are any "better" then a rescued dog is rubbish. As a teacher I can tell you that two smart parents doesn't make a smart child. The same is true with dogs. UPBRINGING AND SOCIALIZATION plays a bigger part then any breeders temperment breeding. Ask the dog whisper, if he can put 10-20 American Pit Bulls in a single pin and not have one fight....that says alot. The only difference in "show" dogs are that the breed is bred to meet the "standards." I do not support LPS who buy from puppy mills, visit one and you'll understand why. I also do not support back yard breeders. There honstly is NO need for them as there is plenty supply of FULL BLOODED animals without the need for un-neccessary breeding. Both my animals were spayed and neutered. Honestly unless the owner is looking for another animal from thier two dogs there is no reason beyond money for the breeding.

Ask yourself this. If you could find a supply of healthy tangs, angels, wrasses, SPS, LPS and Softies just waiting for homes, would you still go to the LFS and buy one?
