Did you purchase a stand and canopy from Glass Cages as well? How well did shipping meet your expectations?

no, i built the tank into the wall. i did not have them ship it to SA, i used the "pickup on a certain day in dallas" option that they were offering. shipping to sa was gonna be $355, but they only charged $80 to deliver to dallas on a certain day. since we were goin up for a visit anyway, that made alot more sense to us. any time you want to come by and look at the tank, let me know.

Thanks Ace, one day I am going to take you up on that offer!

That is a large difference in shipping considering the distance, lol.

I purchased a small 29 gallon Top Fin tank and it busted across the bottom the very next day. Lost over half the tank water on the carpet not to mention the fish that died in all the trauma. I will never recommend a Top Fin tank - even as a quarantine tank.

Hey Chris...do a search for glasscages here on maast and you should dig up several threads about them...I bought a 240g from them and had it shipped here to SA. I am very happy with my tank as well.

I have a 55 gallon Top Fin tank. I have 120 lbs of sand and over 100 pounds of rock in it...no problems for the past year.

Every once in awhile Petsmart gets in some different sized tanks. I remember seeing a tank that was I think a 150g that was unusual in its dimensions but it was cool. I had a 75g Top Fin tank and never had any problems with it over the few years I had it. I even drilled 6 holes (two 2in. and four 3/4in.) in the back of the tank with no problems either. On the smaller tanks of course the glass is much thinner and more likely to break, but that's with any brand. I was cleaning out a 10g tank one time and it cracked just by picking it up with some water in it. The main thing I would watch for on a glass tank is the silicone joint quality. The quality of the silicone itself and the craftsmanship in making the joints. I did notice that after a few years of use the corner joints didn't seem to maintain as well on the Top Fin as say an Oceanic tank. Just my observation though.
