We are working on a library with many, many chemistry links. Its under construction now. In the meantime I will send you some when I can get to my home puter. Those should keep you busy for a couple of months.

Also, Martin Moe's book, Marine Aquarium Refrence Systems and Invertebrates , is an excellent resource on chemistry. I have an old first edition from 1982 but I understand an updated 2nd edition is out now.

Here is the book I have. The hobby may have changed, but the chemistry hasn't.

    Great.

Here is the stuff I would recommend you read up on. It has a pretty good index so these should be easy to find:

Oxygen, Calcium, Alkalinity, Phosphate, and Nitrogen, as well as the section on filtration.

That'll get you started. Like I said, its an old book, but still the best for the basics. The tenchnology may have changed, but not the basics of chemistry. Most of that was worked out in ocean systems a long time ago. What we do in our tanks is the same, but in minature, with a few exceptions. What the oceans do with winds, surface area and a huge biomass, we do with labor and equipment.
