Any good place to visit? Is the beach going to be cold and foggy in February?
I'm going to be at the San Diego Convention Center for a week:

Look at all those live rocks on the beach at Florida's state park!
Check with ThunderKat. He's a navy guy and I am sure he spent at least little time in SD. I'm sure some of the other navy guys can jump in here too.

There are some days in the winter it gets chilly but that didn't stop the surfers, they were out there in wet suits. It is almost always sunny (hence "Sunny San Diego"). The only thing I would say if you have never been there is to watch out for the kelp. It can wrap around you and grab you and cause an unfun experience. The water out there isn't very clear around the shore so snorkeling wasn't as good as Hawaii.
I would recommend the southern beaches by Mexico, I think the one I used to go to was Imperial Beach.
Plenums and ultra deep sand beds > all other setups!
i was stationed there for a few years and a good place to go is the gas light district, there is pretty good food and drink if i remember right. well i actually knowabout the drink way more than the food. theweather there is actually much like it is here in winter , during the day the high 60's to low 70's and at night it would got down to the 40's.
