Thread: Feeding Question

    Default Feeding Question

    I got a Scooter Blenny.......

Yes he is eating my pods but he will quickly go through those. Can I give him live black worms like you would a dragonite and would he eat them, and if so do you just put the live worms in your aquarium and let them go?
If life is like a box of chocolates, then someone sat on mine!

I definitely wouldn't wait until he runs out of food to try that, but it is possible he could take to them, but then he may not. If the worms are the freshwater version, you should be fine, but you could try to confine them to a container so that the blenny can swim into and the other fish won't eat.

I usualy feed them frozen bloodworms, brine, and small mysis. They will usually take to frozen food if you'll slow the current so the the food can settle to the bottom. They are much easier to get onto frozen foods than mandarins. I don't think I've ever had them not take bloodworms.

This can supplement their diet but they are still hard to keep long term unless you have a reasonable pod population.

I don't know if I would mess with the live blackworms. They will die quickly in saltwater but might live just long enough to get into/under rocks where they will just rot.
