1.) That's what some say but it didn't make a difference on my shepherd. He's still crazy.
2.) It's such a common procedure I think pretty much all vets would be good at it. Just call around for prices. The vet next to our store is pretty reasonable on pricing. You could also check with the humane society and see if they offer low cost nuetering.

Here's a link to a program called SNAP.

They are priced reasonably. If you have a big dog you will have to get to the mobile location early because they only have a few large kennels. They start calling names at 7:30, but you have get their about 5:00 to sign up.

It is also recommended because is lessens the chances of cancer and issues associated with the reproductive organs and the hormones they secrete. If an animal, more commonly a female, doesn't reproduce regularly as nature intended, they are more likely to have problems later down the road. Plus, it has been shown that animals that have been fixed have a longer lifespan than those who are still intact.

It does fix issues that are linked to hormonal imbalances and such, but usually when a problem isn't fixed, like in your case, it is because of the personality of the animal, or it isn't linked to the hormones in the body. Usually this is corrected with some sort of obediance training, usually.

Have you ever seen Dog Whisperer on National Geographic TV, that guy is ah-mazing!
