Heck yeah! On those so called "deep sea" fishing trips around Corpus, little sharks are caught all the time. I've seen 'em caught off the piers too.

I've caught 10-20 sharks a day on the offshore trips out of Port A. Mostly sharp nosed sharks about 2-3 ft. long. They were all females and had apparently congregated to drop their pups. We cut them open and let the pups swim off after we caught them.

NEXT TIME YOU GET ONE I'LL BUY IT FROM YA. I MAY JUST GET A SHARP NOSE AFTER ALL. I HAVE NEVER BE ABLE TO LAND A SHARK AT PORT A. I HERE THEY GET THE BONNETHEADS EVEN, I'M JUST ONE OF THOSE BAD FISHERMEN. I EVEN THOUGHT IF THE SHARK CAN LIVE IN THE GULF OF MEXICO, IT SHOULD BE NO REAL TASK TO KEEP HIM IN A MUCH CLEANER TANK. I CAN ONLY KEEP A SMALL PUP, THE TANK I SHOULD HAVE IN FEB WILL BE 72L X 36W X 24 TALL I THINK ITS A 249GAL. W/ 100 GAL SUMP. THAT SHOULD KEEP IT HAPPY UNTIL I CAN MAKE THE SPACE FOR A 500+ GAL.
IF ANYONE CATCHES ONE PLEASE LET ME KNOW I WILL BE GALD TO PAY.

Its really pretty easy. Use a steel leader and a circle hook and just put a big chunk of fish or whatever on and chunk it out as far as you can.

now that i found some prices on bonnetheads i need to either catch one or switch to a atlantic sharp nose.
i found a tank for just over $1300 i just need a 100 gal for the sump and see if i can get one of those giant skimmers that pete makes. i hear these sharks are very nasty eaters.
i've thought its time to kick one of the cars out of the garage and set the tanks back in a bit, and get this, a nice 6 foot wide fresh water waterfall positioned right under the tanks giving an illlusion that the tanks are broken.

you could get a stock tank like they use to water cattle as your sump. probably cheaper than a tank or sump. (if your using your garage.) heck, you could keep a shark in one, just make sure it doesn't have algecide impregnation!
