I use the stuff from HEB too. It is only abour 3 bucks for a very large pack. It is roasted. I drop some Selcon and garlic on it and let it soak for a few minutes first. Then I bind it to a rock using a rubberband. I have been doing this for about a year. The tangs love it and my wallet does too. 10 healthy tangs can't be wrong. Thanks Pete for turning me on to it.

I use seaweed selects brown and green sheets. I put a few drops of Kents Garlic Extreme on it first and let it absorb it for a few miniutes so it gets squishy. I attach mine to an airstone on a piece of air tubing and my tangs tear that sucker up within miniutes. I have 2 yellow tangs and 1 red sea purple tang in a 92 corner tank. I also feed frozen brine and mysis soaked in garlic extreme every other day.

we buy giant packs from an asian food market on hildebrand (near blanco). 50 sheets (10"x10") for $5.80. it is roasted, but the tangs dont seen to mind. they are going thru about a sheet a day (i should say in about 15 minutes). even my other fish like hogfish and wrasses are eating it.

Thanks guys for all the ideas. A question for the guys using garlic. Anything in paticular type of garlic you use that is cheap. I despise buying stuff at the LFS with an expensive label that I could have got for pennies at the grocery. I assume this works like stink bait used in fishing.

You can get garlic extract at the grocery store or a health food store.

Isn't the green package of seaweed select the same thing as Nori. If you look at them side by side they appear to be the same thing. What type of seaweed select are you using the green, brown or red?

I don't think this is good to feed the fish unless your HEB has the unsalted one, the only ones at my HEB have alot of salt.

The green. I'm trying the garlic soak on them. If that doesn't work then the formula II flakes. It seems to eat up the Formula I flakes I feed the other fish. I have a variety of macro algea growing in the tank. Hopefully it will supplement that for now.
