Very cool Richard, Ive been trying to get my hand on some Reef Crystals but havent seen anybody selling it lately (or maybe i havent been out enough)..Ive been using IO for a while and i guess its better than oceanic, it raised my alk and Ca. levels like crazy..I want to give Reef Crystals a try, but this new salt looks to good to pass up..

well Jim I don't have nearly as much to risk as you! I do have a burning desire to provide the absolute best i can for my critters, and future critters, and someone has got to try that.

I tried oceanic, I liked how fast it mixed, but I know I got one of those infamous 'bad batches'.

I don't know as to say what I am doing is jumping on a bandwagon, more along the lines of experimenting. I like Seachem products, everyone of them has been exactly what they said it would be, no more, no less. they have never advertised a magic bullet, and IMO have a pretty darn good track record of customer service. take a look at the difference between Seachem and Oceanic based on what richard just said.

oceanic gets accused of a bad batch and they turtle up, seachem's recipe for salt mix is attacked and they vigorously defend their mix w/ scientific research. I like that.

<--seachem fan. I will give the salt a chance.

If richard is willing, i will bring in some RO/DI water mixed to 1.023 in to the store w/ my first batch and we can test it out and publish our findings here.

Experimenting is ok to a point, eventually you have to evaluate the data and make a decision. If what you are doing equals the results you desire, then hey, go for it!
