Default HELP (i did my research)

ok i looked all over the net and i couldnt find anything and i dont have access to a camera right now so all i can do is describe it. it looks almost like an open crab claw with this black thing inside or like a open bird beak with a black toung. i did reach down into the tank and touched the beak and it closed real quick. it reminded me of a clam, not the ones you are use to but the other ones, lol. does anyone have any idea.

Are you refering to a mussel? They sort of look like black clams but mussels don't have protruding tongues.

How large is this creature? What is the shape? Could you draw a picture (in paint) and post it? Sometimes it is tough to do an identification without a picture.
