Weird. The seaweed I found on the beach in Port A earlier this year seemed to be totally devoid of life. Maybe I need to look somewhere else...awesome find.

This is true. Here's a picture of a few critters we shook out of some seaweed we picked up in the surf last year. I let them all go as I didn't have a salt tank for them :(

We caught 3 anglers, 1 pipefish, a couple nudibranches and tons of shrimp and crabs. I'm going to do this type of "fishing" again soon...maybe I'll bring some back this time.

Very cool This is the first time I have ever seen an angler in the seaweed and you cought 3 that is sweet. I saw lots of the nudibraches but didn't bring any home wasnt too sure if they were good or not. Next time I go down there I will diffently be on the look out for more cool stuff in the seaweed.

i had some of those nudi's in my fuge, but then stopped seeing them(not that i ever saw them all that often) i suspect they got thrown out with some pruned macro.

If you net the seaweed offshore, you have a lot better chance of finding a lot of life in it. Once it gets rolled around in the surf much or all of what was living in it drops off.

BTW the angler is still doing good it is amazing how much this little guy swims around comparied to my other one, I think its cause the little guy is the only anler with the swim blader so it makes it easier for him to move around.

Went to Aquatic warehouse Louis got some new ghost shrimp in so we picked out a dozen of the smallest ones for the angler. As soon as they were dropped into the fuge the little angler gobbled one up.
