Well finally a day off after I dont know how many days working and went to the lake. Went to Red Bluff which dosent have any fish since red algae bloom but all the sudden tonight started to catch some catfish and was having a blast but then the phone rang. Man just got the new brazilian red tail and got her enclosure fixed nice when tonight the english mastiff carried out her assault. Teenage neighbor's daughter and nephew watch my house when I am gone but tonight they were at the football game so her younger sister was coming to check and watched the mastiff jump from the couch into the glass shattering the glass and afraid of snakes she went home and called her sister. I finally get the call after catching the second fish and am told to come home quick and got the story. I had to catch the snake which was probably the most ****ed off reptile I have ever seen and at 8' it made it a rather crappy task even worse I left my snake hook and tongs at the lake. My girlfriend screamed alot and I think she would be really good in a scary movie as she has some lungs! I managed to get a towel over her head just long enough to grab her neck and she coiled around my other arm in a instant. Mouth open and hissing she squeezed my hand and arm until they turned blue! Finally g/f found a large enough tote to put her in and we got her uncoiled from my arm and into the tote. Damage to the snake: One set of small bites on the end of the tail past the vent so no severe worry and didnt feel any broken ribs or soft spots and no blood. Damage the the dog: One decent snake bite on her nose with a bit of blood but no serious damage. Collateral damage was the worst....I also have a bullmastiff that was at home as well and he is terrified of snakes so the poor guy ****ed and pooped all over the place. You could see the trail as he ran through the house. He actually had the crap scared out of him which is almost funny and thats the only part that was funny. Tempered glass on the enclosure door by the way and it was strong but not strong enough to stand up to the dog flying into it. Somehow neither the dog or the snake had any wounds from the glass which to me is amazing. So much for a relaxing day at the lake :(
