Thread: cleaning acrylic?

  1. #1

    Default cleaning acrylic?

what should I use to clean the outside of acrylic? I have a bunch of microfiber rags to wipe it, but what do I need to get the glue off that won't damage the acrylic?
    Thanks

Depends on the kind of glue. Are you talking about solvent for welding acrylic like weld-on #3? If so, you can't clean it off, only sand it down. If you want to do that, let me know, I'll post how to do it.

no, just the glue that is left behing from the protective paper and just wondering about general cleaning.
    Thanks

Oh, something weird happened if the paper left glue residue; I'm guessing this is imported acrylic. Try general glue remover, I forget what that stuff is called. I've used it to take off the residue from price tags on PVC parts. It comes in a small can with a flip-up top that you can drip it out of.
