Default pH, temp Controllers and Monitors

I don't want this to turn into a discussion on whether or not you should use or depend on ph monitors. I know you need to back them up with a good pH test kit. But, having said that, I am going to get one (if I sell the Neptune).

What I need to know is your opinion on whether to just go cheap with a handheld or more expensive with a monitor or even a controller. If so, what brand?

    Thanks everyone!

Most all of your handheld instruments, hanna, YSI, oakton ect.. have a double junction probe component that must be replaced each year. The probe is just not capable of taking accurate readings that long.... and anywayz how much does a mistake in PH cost???

OK, consider me officially out of this thread. I can take a hint.

Gary, I would never exclude you from any conversation, even if I DID already know what you were going to say. :innocent
