    I just had my transmission rebuilt a bout 4 months ago in my Grand Am and it cost $2100. It completely went out on me though so not sure if the damage inside is comparable.

    If you are buying a boat of any size you need to upgrade the cooler for sure!!!!

    I forget, what does a 97 suburban have? I think it's a 4L60E. It should be a lot cheaper than most FWD cars.
    I'd expect it to be in the $1200 range.

    I bet you can buy a complete TCI 4L60E for around that price as well.
