It is for sale and will be up on E-bay NLT this Fri, (it is my brothers) he is setting the reserve at $12K but said if I knew anyone local he would take $10K. Sweet bike, needs a little TLC but will start every time with less than 10 kicks.

Thats pretty nice for sure, looks like an 80 inch UL flathead, the emblems on the tank definately indicate '52/'53. 10 grands not bad. The speedo probaly needs a new cable or its come loose from the backside of the speedometer or the sending unit on the transmission. Either way, a fairly simple fix. I have a '52 custom Panhead in my garage, original mill and trans, molded frame, cleaned up & tweeked, stock Linkert carb, some neat little tricks in the motor... Cool ride.

I ck'd the back end of the cable and figure it is the speedo end just haven't pulled it to confirm. Love to see a pic of yours when you get a chance sounds sweet.

Ahh well, JimD pretty much covered my initial guesses on the speedo problem...LOL :lol
Oh, and yes, Clif...heheh...actually I DO know quite a bit about cars and cycles - I'm not quite as proficient in mechanics as a tech, but I know quite a bit...started out as being my dad's "go-fer" when he worked on the family vehicles, I'm married to a mechanic, AND working as an automotive service advisor for about 5-6 years. I'm a huge fan of muscle cars and have owned two Harleys myself. Still have my MC licence, but no bike :cry

BTW - that '52 is SWEET :skeezy
Soooo - how's the kickback on starting that beauty?

That bike has a manual distributor advance/retard mechanism using the left handgrip, if started in the full retard position, no "kickback" at all...
