Thread: Light ?

    Default Light ?

Today, I am switching my uknown brand 1 yr old 20k 250w mogul mh bulbs to a hamilton 15ks. do i need to lower my corals or do anthing as a safety precaution? I have read that new light can cause bleaching.

if anyone needs a temp light lmk. i was getting excellent growth from the lights I replaced, but it was a little too blue for me with 6ft VHO actinics. btw, if you need them, they're free.

I would cut back on your light timer and slowly work it back to where it is now over a couple of weeks. Not only are you going to new bulbs but you are also increasing the PAR value of the bulbs. I had several corals bleach once when I went from old 14K to new 10K bulbs. I think you may have a similar scenario here.
