Thread: That funny eel

    Default That funny eel

Well my snowflake eel has developed this wierd habit. The puffer I got a few weeks back is still kind of shy when it comes to eating, so I have been hand feeding it. (Kind of wierd it is a shy eater, but the only fish brave enough to eat from my hand.) Well the eel has caught on to why my hand is in the tank, so he will swim up into my hand and coil himself around it like a snake and perch there gaurding the piece of shrimp. He doesnt normally eat, he just guards it for about a minute then swims off. After that the puffer comes up munches on the shrimp. The eel and puffer will switch back and forth until the shrimp is gone. Kind of funny. I tried to get pictures but the batteries are dead. I will see if I can get some tomorrow.

Mike, would you come show me how to do that with my 6 ft. Moray?

I'll count your fingers for you when you pull your hand out.

    Really though, that sounds cool.

I used to think it was cool to hand feed my snowflake, then he mistook my finger for a shrimp. At two feet long you would be surprised at how strong they can be. Not to mention the reaction some people like me have to the toxins they can have on their teeth - four hours of swollen lymph glands and a burning/freezing sensation of the entire arm of the hand that was bitten. Just thought you might want to know.

Whoa. That's slick. Careful when they get bigger, they'd both love to take a chomp at you ;)
