Default Anemone + Hydor Tip... Bad combo!

I had a RBTA which was doing pretty well. He was in a bad spot though and kept rubbing against some nearby rocks. I thought he would probably eventually move, but I didn't really think about it too much... he was happy there for a couple of weeks. Here is what he looked like "before" the accident...

So anyway, as near as I can figure he wandered into a nearby Hydor rotating tip and got chewed up pretty bad. He released from the rock and ended up going over the overflow and ended up in the filter sock. Anyway, this is what he looks like now:

What else can I do? Believe it or not he is still alive. I found the remains of several tentacles in the sock too, so several were chopped off. Should I try feeding him? He seems well protected for the time being...

Leave it alone, dont try feeding it... It needs time to heal, if the injuries werent to severe, itll nurce itself back to health. Contrary to popular belief, most anemonies are very rizilliant! ...

I had a BTA go through the overflow and found him on the filter pad in a little disk. Put him back into the tank and after a day he was back to new. Hopefully yours will survive too.

I had one get straddled over the grate on the overflow. I had to cut it in half to get it off. I ended up with two perfectly healty RBTAs.

Ok, It's doing a little bit better today. You can see where one of the tentacles was ripped off. I'll try to just leave it alone and heal itself.

Day 2 - There is definitely some improvement! His tentacles are very short though. I think His new name shall be "Stubby!"

Looks like its on the road to recovery, just give it time... When you see good inflation/extention, you may want to attempt to feed it a small piece of silverside.
