found this little bugger eating our brain when I came home today. Took him out of the tank right away but would like to know what the little sucker is. Any one seen this before?

Looks like the same kind of little pest I get on new corals now & then, a SeaChem dip makes em jump off and die and I rinse them down the sink![]()
Don't know what they are called exactly, but I have always assumed they were "Bad". If you have one, it probably came in as a hitchhiker on a coral, you there is a good chance you have more.
I dip EVERYTHING (ok, not fish ;)) in SeaChem before it goes in the tank!
It's going to be pretty hard to pinpoint exactly what kind of crab you have there, as there are over 4,000 described species of true crabs. As far as there being more? Sure, it's a possibility - but most likely that one hitched in on a piece of live rock. Just keep an eye out...it's the best you can do at this point. You could try putting a piece of shrimp in your tank after lights out and watch to see what shows up - that is a good way to draw most crabs out of hiding.

Is there any way you could post a pic with the crab facing forward?

Hubby took the pics and I cant seem to get any good focus on him:( Your probably right about him hiking in on a coral or something.. havent seen any more sine so guess thats the most important thing. Its about the size of My small pinky nail. Thanks for all the help guys![]()
