Default Frozen food vs. Ocean nutrition observation

The the last year I have been feeding my tank a mix of frozen brine and mysis. I have a 200gal BB and I am using a 36" lifereef skimmer with mazzie venturi and panworld 100p-px. My skimmate is fairly consistant in smell, color and amount until I decided to switch to oceans nutrion to help satisfy the powder blue, kole and yellow tang I have. I have been using using flake now for 1.5 months and have noticed my skimmer has reacted completely different but consistant. I skim twice as much now but it has the color green like a dye (probably the flake color).

I can't believe the affect changing foods would have on a skimmer even though it makes sense. After seeing this I dont understand how fellow reefers can rotate different types of foods without having to re-adjust skimmer to retain performance levels.

    what do you guys/gals think?

Mix it all together and then you can just adjust it once :innocent

LOL...yep, that's what I do. I mix up a slurry of everything I have on hand...frozen, flake, and even pellets. I guess the only time the skimmer performance wavers slightly is when I have to put my hands in the tank, or when I add top off water to the sump (generally about 3G a day). I'm wondering if your increased skim with the flake is a "good" thing though? :unsure Less amounts of the food actually being used by your corals and inverts?

that is what I was trying to get at. The stuff I am pulling know smells a lot worst than what I was pulling using frozen But it sure is nice to see a fat powder blue and yellow tang. I travel quite a bit and thought I should train the to eat flake. that way I can use a feeder for emergencies.
