Thread: yellow tang

    Default yellow tang

My yellow tang has gotten some black specs on him. Does any one know what this might be and how I can treat it?

Is there any way you can post a picture? Also, tell us as much as you can about your tank set up, water params, tank mates, and how the fish is acting (breathing hard, not eating, etc.)...all this information will help. ;)

How is your tang doing? Are the black specks still there, or are they going away? What do they look like? (I'm guessing a picture is not forthcoming?) Without a pic or better description, I would guess that it could be some sort of bacteria or parasite...or even possibly a fungus (allbeit that is kind of rare in the aquarium). What are your water params? How old is your system, and how long have you had the tang?
