    Default problem with leather

Can anyone help identify what might be wrong with my leather? Best way I can describe it is that it's getting white spots at random. They are small white circles. I've only had it for a few weeks, but it had been looking great and just started getting these spots over the last few days. It's still coming out and fully opening up every day (closed a little in this pic because I had irritated it a little poking at the spots), but has more spots each day. Hopefully the pictures work.

There are two things that changed in the last few days that I can think of, but maybe it's something totally unrelated?
    1) moved a bubble coral a little closer to it. They are still several inches apart, but I know bubbles have long sweepers sometimes. If it's getting stung though, it's weird the spots are more in the middle of the coral and not on the edges.
    2) dosed kalk via auto-topoff.

Was the kalk well dissolved? The way those spots are in the center makes me think that maybe some of the kalk precipitated onto your leather. Just a thought...? :unsure

Thanks Wendy. Good thought. That's why I mentioned the kalk because I had that same concern but wanted to see what others thought. The way I'm dosing it is via a Tunze Dispenser/Tunze Osmolator setup. I'm going to investigate this more to see if it could be causing a problem.

Well, I don't think the kalk delivery is the problem the more I research this. The kalk gets premixed, then pumped into the sump, then flows through the fuge then up into the tank by a return pump. So it should be well mixed/dissolved. Someone else suggested I try to get it into more flow so I moved it over. Also by moving it I got it away from a couple LPS that maybe could have been stinging it. Hopefully it will start to look better...
