Who Owns this website?

Chris,

I know you maintain this web site, but who owns it? Is it under a particular person's name or is this an asset of the MAAST membership in general? I am sure MAAST has to pay regular fees to keep this site on the Internet, but do we "own" any equipment, hardware or software that is used to maintain this site? Or are you giving your time and resources to the club for free?

Are you the only one that is responsible for maintaining this site?

In other words, is there a backup administrator?

So, I am assuming Chris does not pay the yearly dues to GoDaddy.com but is paid through the MAAST checking account. Does Chris volunteer his time to maintain this web site, or is he compensated?

I'm almost certain that he volunteers his time to this website. Someone tell me if I'm wrong.

I do not accept any form of payment for my duties as administrator of MAAST, it is strictly voluntary and part of my job duties as Board of Director. In fact, the first 2 & 1/2 years of our hosting & domain fee's were paid for by myself without any form of compensation.

Currently, the domain names (.org & .com) are paid for by MAAST. The hosting account is on the credit card of one of our Board members Adam Busenlehner and he is being reimbursed for the expenses. This is done because our wonderful host only accepts payment in the form of credit card transactions. Within a few months time this will be resolved and the hosting account will be transferred to a MAAST debit card.

Answering to the topic title: This website is in ownership of the Marine Aquarists Association of South Texas. I, serving as a founding member and Board of Director simply maintain and update the site as best seen fit by the Board. Pete, our current President also has access to the administrative features of our site.
