Thread: Heavy cleaning question...

    Default Heavy cleaning question...

I bought a used tank (55g), it was used for freshwater and poorly maintained. The sides of the tank have a heavy whitish buildup (it looks clear when water is added but I still want to get rid of it)... cleaning with bleach and a brush didn't really do much.

    Anyone have any pointers?

i would make sure you rinse your tank out really well, or that bleach will kill

Use vinegar. That should take care of it easily.

I agree with the vinegar. Being this part of the country I have a feeling it's hard-water stains, but of course that's just a guess without seeing it.
