    Default Filtration

OK...to start our tank we had an Aquaclear 110 with a sponge and biomax media. We also had the DSB along with around 30 lbs of LR. This was about 6 weeks ago or so.

About 4 weeks ago we added 60 lbs of base rock. My question....when can I pull that biomedia in the Aquaclear out? I alread took the sponge out and would like to take the biomax stuff out as well.

We only have the one fish in the tank at the moment. All parameters are fine except nitrate at 15. It's been at 15 for about a month.

    Thanks!

The biomax is having no effect on the nitrate levels. I guess the question is why do you want to take it out int he first place. What is it harming, or the sponge for that matter?
