    Default small sand? storm

I bought and tunze 6100 about 3 weeks ago and ever since I tend to have sand(?) like stuff floating through out the tank. This is a 150g tank. I put the tunze on the lowest setting for a day to see if this would help but did not. The tank is visible but has these particles that are continously floating in tank. Does anyone have a suggestion how to make the water clear? I do have a sump and it is not come from it and no they are not microbubbles. It appears to be sand but not for sure. Thanks for any suggestions.

Can you physicaly take a piece out? If not, it MIGHT be comeing from your sump weither it be bubbles or debris. Have you checked your skimmer if you have one?
Have you tried to re-position the 6100 to see if this will remedy the problem.
I have a Tunze wave machine, and a 1000gph Tunze power head, yeah it stirrs up a little sand, but not a continual sand storm(?)

If you are useing South Down sand it probably is. See if the sand is being push away from a certain part in the sand bed and add rubble as well as a few small pieces of rock to that area. This will break up the flow that hits the bottom and will keep your sand down there.

If it is sugar fine sand you can put a layer of special grade (1-2 mm size) sand on top of it. it won't blow around as much as sugar fine.
