    Default 210 Progress

Wendy wanted to document the progress on the 210 that we acquired on 3/13/05.
Here's a few pics of how things are going.
For those of you who helped load this setup in SA at the last meeting,
    thanks again.
The stand had to be torn down quite a bit due to the unuseable space in the center and 2 of the doors were broken and/or missing at the time of delivery.
A little time, elbow grease, glue, stain, and lemon oil made a huge difference.

And wow, am I blessed- Wendy let me do all of this inside the house.
She was standing there with the shop vac while sawdust and wood chunks were flying.

Now that the stand is dealt with, on to the canopy.
I had an audience at the lumber store watching me put 8 foot boards in my Jetta. There was probably a betting pool as to whether I could get the wood in the car.
They were kind enough to applaud when I actually got the wood in the car.
Anyway, here's a start to the canopy. I hope to have it trimmed out and complete by the weekend so I can start the staining process..

Did you have them cut the pieces or did you get a 4x8 in your Jetta?

Who needs "in"? Learn some good knots and use the roof

    Looks very good btw

    Thank you both.

I had the lumber store rip the pieces down to 13"x96" - no 4x8's in the Jetta or at least while i'm in it.
I own a table saw (among other woodworking equipment) and prefer to make the final cuts myself so I know the dimensions are correct.
Nothing worse than realizing that one piece of wood is 1/8" shorter than you needed.

I cut it three times and it's still too short!

    Totally OT but....
I like the rims on your Jetta.
Oh, stand and canopy look good too.

    Thanks.
It took awhile to find wheels that don't show up all over the internet or around town.
