    Default Gobies

Hi I'm back, well the tanks coming along, no nitrites, or ammonia. I have a pH of about 8.0-8.2 and I'm wondering if I can add a goby or if I should try some inverts to sift. Or should I just wait another week or two. Bought some buffer to raise the pH, and I was also told gobies can't take drastic pH changes, but I thought I'd ask you all first. Thanks

If PH is 8.0-8.2 I would leave it alone! How long has it been cycling? What size tank? Live rock cured or uncured? What other equipment?

Cycling about a month now, 75 gal rock should be cured by now, wet/dry with protein skimmer, 2 MJ 1200s 60 lbs live sand 4 damsels alive bout as long as the tank. 10,000K light, just 1 I know don't boo me.

My vote is go for it. A small goby creates a very small bio load and should be a decent addition to the tank.

Agreed, a month should be plenty of initial cycling and you probably "Need" additional bio-load to keep it going. Did you ever get an algae bloom? I would also get some snails and hermits in there if not already. A sand sifting start might be a good addition. Before you add a sifting Gobie, what size sand did you use? They can make a big mess if you have sugar-size sand.

I'm on my 2nd algae, added the 2nd half of rock a week late hence the wait on goby. I've got the brown a small patch of green/blue? hard to tell with light and some string. No hermits or snails but they r next, alamo aquatics didn't have any I saw so I went with dragon goby, he's bigger than my D@#n damsel I haven't caught yet. ! nice piece of macro is startins as well as 3 green strings, I'll wait to see what they are since theyre on the rock.
