    Default Water pump problems

As you saw, I just bought 2 Mag 9.5s and they won't fit into the chambers on my DAS and allow for outake attachments so I had to sell them.
    (They are 5" x 3")

    The chambers in my aquarium measure 5 1/4 x 5 1/4, so I was thinking like 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 or something along those lines.

Does anyone know of a submersible pump around that size that has a flow of at least 700 gph?

Does anyone else have a DAS aquarium that has no external plumbing? The tall sponges are too big for my little MJ 1200s to pull water through.

I am looking at the Quiet One series, but for some reason they say the 3000 and the 4000 are the same dimensions @
    4 1/4"L x 3 3/4"W. Visually, there is a size difference in the pics I have seen.

Someone please chime in with ideas or experiences. Thanks.

I have a system just like yours. My pump stopped working (the flow rate went way down to a trickle) and I tried to replace it (was told that the manufacturer was no longer making that size pump - augh!). Just could not find anything that fit well. I ended up taking the old one and cleaning the magnet really well and brushing out the impeller well. Replaced the sponge and fired it up and it worked great. I have to clean it a lot more often but I am crossing my fingers that the pump doesn't go out.

Have you checked to see if you can get a replacement impeller for your old pump?

Was yours a Sacem 800 - perfect little 3"x3"??? I have contacted DAS as well as Dallas North where the tank came from and no help.

For some reason, there was only 1 pump with this setup but it has 4 chambers w/ 3 sponges. I still need to locate 2 more pumps.

Are the impellars pretty easy to locate? I mean, there are so many different sizes.

    Thanks Frederick
