    Default Survivor Palau?

Anyone watch the first episode last night?

I watched the first half hour, I have been fascinated with palau for years. It's quite litterally the garden of the pacific, gorgeous protected reefs, ww2 historic battlegrounds...

the footage of the reefs and wreckage they shot was stunning.

I kinda lost interest in survivor, but was real excited to see this one because I am also facinated with Palau. As I watched it, all I did was surf the net checking out stuff about it. I told Darren to take me there for a vacation/honeymoom, but he seems to think we will be kidnapped. :blink

I have never heard anything about Palau being a dangerous place for tourists, the natives seem to care more about loving their islands than anything else...

I will definately go there someday... sigh... someday...

He heard a story of tourists being kidnapped while snorkeling at one of those islands - but they are a chain of like 300 of them so I think they may have been in the wrong kinda place.

I suspect if you go out with a genuine dive op you would probably be ok, my understanding is Palau's economy is absolutely driven by tourism... so they probably have an interest in shutting down oeprations like that.... though, I wonder if Survivor is going to generate a tourism glut.

Hehh.. just take me with you guys, I doubt some 4ft islander is going to think twice about trying to kidnap me. at 6'5" and 350 Lbs, I probably paint a pretty intimidating picture to cowards like that.
