Default Some nice stuff today at Aquadome

Picked up a 12"x12" beautiful symphillia open brain from Aquadome for only 50 bucks! Gary has a new supplier for corals and has some really nice stuff - worth taking a look if you are in South Austin.
30 Gallon reef, 220 gallon South American Cichlid tank.

Was that the big reddish one in the bottom row of tanks? I saw that and thought it was a good deal for the $ but the color didnt appeal to me in thier tanks. They have some other nice stuff (nice ricordia but wayyy over priced) but they really need to fix their holding systems. Aptasias spreading to corals and cyano everywhere. I bought a few things there last week and viewed my purchases as rescue efforts! They typically have nice big fish too...

Only the coral holding tanks are in bad shape, the fish tanks are at least decent. I know Garys concerned and is planning a strategy to remedy that situation. It just goes to show you how quickly Aiptasia can spread in a matter of days.

Somebody needs to put him in touch with Larry. It sounds like a small army of berghia is needed. Larry is coming over later today, I'll whisper in his ear.

As for the cyano, we all know what he needs to do about that. He should too.
The little bit of cyano I had has just about disappeared since I put in my fuge and started dripping Kalk. Thanks Dan and JimD. A few Maxijets didn't hurt either.

This kind of brings up a question I have..... If you add a piece of live rock to your tank that has some cyano or undesirable algae growing on it would you have to worry about it. Assuming the conditions in your tank are good and not an incouraging envirnment for the algae, it should just disappear?
