i have one in my 40 with two percs...he eats like a pig, and is very cool...from my experience he has been a very hardy fish, and ate the first time i fed the tank with brine.

I used to have one and think they are great. They don't seem to need a lot of space, just lots to explore. Mine was always going in and out of things and checking things out. Very cool fish.

I paged through my trusty handbook on Marine fish by Scott Michael, and some of these fish get big! There's one in the book (Starry Puffer) that reaches a max. length of 47 inches :o The one you are interested in, reaches a max. length of 80.0cm or 31.5 inches! That's pretty big for a 29G tank! When you do a google search, enter as "Bluespotted Puffer".

The smaller ones that won't mind your tank size would include:
**Whitespotted Toby - 3.5"...not recommended for reef set up, as they feed on a wide range of inverts. (didn't say anything about corals) Also noted to be apt to nip tank mates.
    **Saddled Toby - 3.9" ...ditto
**Ambon Toby - 5.5" ...ditto (very pretty coloration on this one)
    **Bennett's Toby - 3.9" ...ditto
    **Fingerprint Toby - 4.3" ..."
**Threebarred Toby - 5.3" ..." (nice looking fish)
**Sharpnose Puffer (Atlantic Toby) - 4.3" (also pretty coloration)
    **Spotted Toby - 4.1" ..." "

Most all appreciate a varied diet of meaty foods, including chopped shrimp, squid, clams, enriched krill, and fish - as well as preparations designed for herbivores. Feed no fewer than 3 times a day.

HTHs, and let me know if you have any more questions ;)

Wendy i think ross is thinking of the fiji blue spot puffer, which is a type of toby, which only gets a max of 4inches.
