    Default PH Crisis

Situation: A large amount of kalkwasser was accidently dumped into my 215. After a 20% water change, the ph is still at around 8.6, i dont want to do anything drastic to bring it back down to quickly. Anyone have any ideas on how to bring it back down softly?

I would just wait and let it come down on it's own.

Yikes! How much dumped in? How do all of your fish and corals look? What was your pH before the first 20% change? 8.6 isnt melt your corals high but I would probably do another water change and go from there. Like I said you pH isnt high enough that I would do something drastic like adding inorganic acids or vinegar. If things turn out ok I would watch your alk/Ca/Mg in the future because your alk is probably whacked and you will need to get things back into balance.

Id be most interested in hearing how this accident occured.
