Curious, where is this board hosted and how much does it take to support it?
MB per month, space required, etc....?
Every time I ask it opens a can of worms around here.

I figured it could help get people more interested in donating to the club....
I am pretty sure this board runs quite large and uses a bit of bandwidth.

i hosted a 14 man CS server, webpage, email server, and voice server on TW a few years back. Would have bouts of lag every few hours for about 30 seconds, otherwise was pretty good considering.

And yes, they block port 80, but i just forwarded web traffic to port 8000 and all was good.

I also have a dedicated server in a colo in dallas on a ~12gbit fiber mesh, so if anyone wants to host something let me know and we'll come up with something. web, email, voice, whatever.

You need to direct the hosting questions to Chris Pugh. AdamInAustin will know the name of the company and the amount paid, but maybe not the other specs. We are in the process of transitioning the hosting out of Chris' name and into the clubs name. After this next BOD meeting at the end of the month I should be able to give you more details, but I do not know them.

The site is sitting on a server at ThePlanet.com located around Dallas. It's DNS is managed by EV1 in Houston.

Joshua, no, that is whay I pay for my account every month. My name registration was 14 dollars for the first year, and I think I just renewed it for another 2 years at 25 dollars (I think) my wife paid that bill. Godaddy has awesome rates.

If this site ever gets larger Like I expect it to and they will say you are hogging to many resources on a virtual server because of the forum
