I have some reddish-green and white bubbly stuff floating on the surface of my CPR Aquafuge. What the heck is it? I don't want to sound like a newbie but this is my first fuge. And how often do you mow the grass? LOL!

Could be decomposing macro. What kind of macro do you have in your 'fuge? How *much* macro do you keep in there...is it "stuffed"? Do you keep any clean up critters in there? Snails? Worms? Do you have sand and LR/rubble in there? A pic would help greatly if you could post one. ;)
I will generally "spiff" my 'fuge at least 2-3 times a week (cleaning & disposing of any gunk off the water surface and glass) and "mow the grass" or thin out as needed. I also mist my mangroves with fresh water to get the salt creep off and to keep the leaves clean about two times a week.
