No idea, but I'm sure he would respond to a PM!

And I agree, the tank(s) are only a small portion of the cost - If you don't agree, I can show you my receipts :o

I got $1 over dealer cost on my 240 oceanic at Austin Aquariums anniversary sale. It still cost about 3x as much as the glasscage's tanks.

That is because they said it was 1 dollar over dealer cost. They question is what is dealer cost. I doubt it is what they actually paid for it. They gave me thier lowest price and then another store beat it by more than 200!

The problem with large tanks from Oceanic is that they no longer make several sizes and keep them as stock items. A 240g tank is now considered custom, built to order, and of course now costs more. It can also take 6 weeks from the time you order it to they ship it to you. A 240g reef-ready Oceanic tank will run you between $1200 and $1500 depending on what LFS you get it from and what style of overflows you go with. One of the nice things about Glass Cages besides the lower cost is that you can have it built any way you want.

    Default tanks

I was in the market for a 240 and after looking at the oceanic pricing, I decided to purchase a tank form Glasscages. Glasscages will build it any way you want. Mine was per drilled for a closed loop system and the front and sides were made with Low Iron Glass, I think oceanic calls it Starphire, price that in an Oceanic.
Tank looks great. Adding water today for, leak test.

i bought a 350 acrylic from tropical fish haven in corpus. it was a custom made tank to fit on the stand i built to go on just the right wall. the tank is 84'' long x 36'' wide x 26'' high. cost was 1400.00.
good thing was half down and 6 weeks later when it was ready the other half. gave me time to save a little. i ordered this tank with no holes and no over flows. i'll be doing all that myself. going with calfos
