Oh well, the Cru came so close but fell short 28 to 21 when our quaterback on 4th and 3 with 48 seconds left in the game was sacked inside Linfields 20 yard line. It was a great game and hard fought! It could have gone either way and Linfield was very suprized with how good a team UMHB fielded. Our starting quarterback is a sophmore who got hurt in the first round. He played part of the second half. However, the suprize was true Freshman quarterback Josh Welch who stepped in to the starting role during the first week of the playoffs and led the Cru to the National Championship game. I see more great games ahead for both of these players.

The previous three games that Linfield played, they scored a minimum of 52 points in each game. In the final game, the score was 21 to 13 (UMHB had the PAT blocked) at half time. In the third quarter, UMHB scored a TD and made the two-point conversion to tye the game at 21 all. UMHB held Linfield scoreless until the middle of the fourth quarter when UMHB had to punt and the punter failed to get the punt off. Linfield then got the ball inside UMHB's 20 yard line and scored a TD on the ensuing drive. UMHB then got the ball back and marched down the field to inside the 20 yard line but QB Josh Welsh was sacked in an all out blitz on fourth down ending a chance to tye the game.
