Thread: Crack MH please help

    Default Crack MH please help

    About a week ago one of my MH buld crack and i did not know on till when i looked at it and notes that it was brocken. the bulb its still working but i dont know if is working at full or what. i just got them about 2 weeks ago so if it gose off it will suck. :cry: so what should i do try to glue it back, i dont think it will work but should i try to do something?

    What kind of bulb is it, mogul end or double-ended? Where is the crack at on the bulb? If you can return it to the company you got it from, I would go that route. If the bulb is cracked along the glass, depending on how bad it is, the gas that is inside the bulb will be released and the bulb will not light properly. It is also dangerous as the bulb could continue to come apart and fall into your tank.

    i think the bulbs also emit radiation, or some other toxin when cracked.

    its cut in half. i hope XM gives warranty on them. How ever i dont know who it happen. it dosent have any water splash on it and i used a cloth to put it on, so i dont know what happen. I did not inspected when i took them out and installed them for and crack or so and next day they lighted up perfect.

    Jason at www.xmlighting.com is very good at replacing defective bulbs, shoot him an email or call him Monday and Im sure he'll make it right.

    Why do I keep hearing about all these problems with XM? Hopefully your tank wasn't made in San Antonio.....LOL.....JK....
