Thanks for the link, I was looking for that. I wasn't sure which forum it was under.

Look at all those live rocks on the beach at Florida's state park!
Greetings All,
I was just told about this organization by someone who is going to buy some Ricordia polyps from me at Nano-Reef.com, I'm in Sweetwater (about an hour from Abilene). I'm curious, do the meetings generally involve frag swaps? And do you have to be a charter member to trade/sell? Do you ever have meetings closer to West TX? If not, can anyone tell me if there is a West TX reef club? I still want in on this society, I just can;t commute long distances in general, espescially not monthly, and espescially not right now 7 months into my 2nd (and final) pregnancy. Thanks in advance everyone.
Hello Orca and welcome. Our meeting are usually in the San Antonio and Austin area. We did one in Corpus this year. You do not need to be a member to swap frags. There is usually a lot of swapping going on at our meetings. We also sometimes have frags as door prizes or raffle items.
As for a west Texas club, I am not aware of one. I would recommend you drop a PM to texasranchers. She is in San Angelo may be able to point you in the right direction. I believe there is a directory of clubs somewhere on reef central.

Thanks Gary,
I'm a little apprehensive about talking to that person though, as before I joined and was just browsing the site, I saw a post by her where she basically gave the very distinct impression that non-charter members are somehow lesser. I don't know if she was just having a bad day or what, but IMHO that kind of attitude isn't cool, and personally, if she feels that way, I would rather not have dealings with her of any kind, whether I become a charter member or not. And if she reads this and it offends her I'm sorry, but that is how I feel.
TexasRanchers,
If I have a misconception about you, please feel free to set the record straight.
