Jellyfish

I was wondering if it would be possible to set up a jellyfish tank, but first I was wondering if anybody could answer these questions:
1)what do they eat? and how do you feed them? (I know some are photosynthetic, but what about the others?)
2)I know they heend circular tanks, would this work?http://www.petsmart.com/global/produ...=1096995011329 If not what would work?
4)what kind or jellyfish would be a good kind to keep?
5) What kind of lights are required? (some are photosynthetic, and what lights would they need? others that aren't I heard don't need as strong lights, right?)
6)And where can you get them online or in S.A.????

There are some really neat jellyfish displays at the state aquarium in Corpus. I can't remember, what kind they are, but some are really cool looking.

Sounds like a very interesting project. I'd be interested in seeing the tank after you get done with it.

There is a cool jellyfish tank at seaworld might, wanna go there see if u can talk to anyone. many jellyfish are easily kept, like an upsidedown jellyfish which i had for a while until my eel got too curious. The mani thing for jellyfish is that they need LOW flow in the tank, and covers on everything that sucks-intake.. otherwise they will end up way into your plumbing. Check out seaworld's tank, they use a lot of PVC with small holes drilled into it to reduce the suction...reefcentral is a good way to go also...also many jellyfish actually eat fish also...the ones at seaworld are kept in a tank with lights that are barely noticable they are soo dim....

They have a jellyfish display at the SA zoo lit by blacklights, looks like ghosts floating in the air, pretty cool...

I think the common jellyfish you see at these zoo and aquarium displays are Aurelia. They can be recognized by the 4 leaf clover leaf design on the top of them. The are carnivores and will also give you a pretty good sting. The Aquarium in New Orleans has an awesome jellyfish display. They have several different tanks. The neatest one that I recall had some that buried in the sand and looked like anemones.

Yeah thats like me, I saw a thread on reefcentral......I'm pretty sure I'm going to start one, but before I do, I just need to find a place that would sell them. Does anybody know of any good online places that would sell them?
