Thread: Whats on my snail?

    Default Whats on my snail?

This is one of the nassarius I got from reeftopia. I noticed this stuck to its shell just now. He was cruising up next to the glass and pressed this thing up against the glass and it seemed kind of fleshy. Atleast soft and flexible anyway, not ridged.

    Thanks,

Its kinda hard to tell from that pic, but my guess is maybe a sea squirt (Tunicate) or a sponge.

Thanks Tim. The only thing strange about this is that Nasarius are sand burrowers.

I would think that the sand would plug up the pores of either a sponge or tunicate and probably kill it.
