    Default DE socket problems

In the past 6-8 months, I have had one side of each of the 250w DE sockets (PFO mini pendants) corrode, deteriorate, and leave me with a bulb with a burned off end that has to be replaced. Is this something that happens sometimes? PFO mini pendant specific? A freak occurrence? Luckily, both times the bulb was ready to be replaced anyway, but I'm getting tired of this. Also, anyone know of any place local I can buy a DE socket before I just order one from hellolights?

    Thanks,

    Aaron

They make a non conductive grease especially for that application, probably at RadioShack. Make sure the remnants dont fall into your tank...

    Aaron,
I can get you 250W DE CoralVue bulbs for $60 a piece if you are interested. They come in 10000, 14000 and 20000K. Let me know.
